GENERALITY

General Travel Conditions for Passengers intending to use the Arriva Italia booking connections from/to Turin and Aosta; specifically

  • Turin – Milan Malpensa Airport
  • Turin Centre – Turin Outlet Village
  • Courmayeur/La Thuile – Aosta – Chatillon/Cervinia – Milan
  • Courmayeur – Chamonix
  • Aosta – Milan Malpensa Airport

Please note that the validity of the offer of transport services by the carrier is subject to the limit of the availability of seats allowed by the vehicle registration card of the vehicle used and of the tickets sold through the online portal.

ASCENT AND DESCENT

Passengers are requested to go to the boarding stop at least 10 to 15 minutes in advance of the scheduled departure/passing time of the bus.
Boarding and alighting from the vehicles must take place exclusively at the authorised Arriva Italia stops located along the lines, and passengers are required to signal their intention to board or alight the vehicle in good time.

TIMETABLES, FARES AND CONNECTIONS

Timetables and fares may be changed with the approval of the Supervisory Authority, with simple notification at the ticket offices of the respective lines concerned. The Company declines all responsibility for missed connections, due to delays or otherwise in the runs, and for unintentional inaccuracies incurred when printing the timetables.
It should be noted that the timetables on the internet site arriva.it are constantly updated and aligned with the operation carried out. In any case, Arriva Italia does not guarantee any arrival time nor is it liable for any inconvenience or damage caused to passengers as a result of non-arrival and/or non-transportation due to unforeseeable circumstances or force majeure.
The travel time relative to the different routes is only indicative and, in any case, to be considered subject to weather and environmental conditions (e.g. traffic, road blocks or road works, strikes, etc.) in the presence of which the transport will actually be carried out.

Turin / Aosta – Milan Malpensa Airport
Passengers are advised to carefully check that the arrival time of the trips is always compatible with the time of presentation at the airport for check-in operations.

INFRINGEMENTS AND SANCTIONS

Passengers without the required ticket or with an irregular reservation are required, in addition to paying the normal fare ticket, to pay an administrative fine in accordance with the laws in force.
The Company reserves the right to take any legal action against travellers in possession of altered or non-authentic travel documents.

TICKETS AND VALIDITY

Passengers are required to obtain their tickets by purchasing them online and/or at authorised ticket offices, and they must be shown to the driver upon boarding.
Tickets are nominative and non-transferable and must be kept until the end of the journey in order to present them to the staff for verification.
The ticket may only be used for the service indicated on the ticket. The purchase of the ticket implies the acceptance of the foreseen conditions and terms of carriage that can be consulted on the Arriva Italia website under “General travel conditions” specific to these connections.
All tickets serve the function of a tax receipt and must therefore be retained in order to allow for any tax checks by the tax authorities. Such checks may be carried out either on board the bus or in the immediate vicinity of the bus stop locations.
Arriva Italia is not responsible for any theft, loss and/or theft of the nominative ticket, nor is it responsible for the use of the ticket by unauthorised persons.

Combined tickets: A combination ticket binds all passengers on the ticket to the same reservation.
The booking is unique, and therefore change and refund operations are not permitted for individual passengers. The same conditions apply to the combined ticket as for single passenger tickets under CHANGES and CANCELLATION.

CHANGE RESERVATIONS

Only one change of date and/or ride per ticket is permitted, subject to availability of seats.
The ride can be changed no later than the departure time. It is not, however, possible to reverse the origin/destination of the booked ticket. Please note that there is only one change per ticket.

For further information, please refer to Regulation (EU) No. 181/2011 concerning the rights of passengers in bus and coach transport.

FREE CIRCULATION

Taking into account that Arriva Italia’s Commercial Reservation Lines are not Local Public Transport services but non-competitive and non-subsidised services, there is no provision for free travel on these lines for law enforcement officers or persons with documentation justifying disabilities.
Due to the type of service, therefore, there are no fare concessions for law enforcement officers, the elderly or the disabled. Full fares apply for each user.

TRANSPORTING CHILDREN

TURIN lines
Children under one metre tall, accompanied by an adult, travel free of charge as long as they do not occupy a seat and in any case within the limit of one child per adult. When a passenger has more than one child less than one metre tall with him/her, in addition to his/her travel document, he/she must validate one ticket for every two children; children admitted to travel free of charge do not have the right to occupy seats and must therefore be held on his/her lap.

AOSTA lines
Children from zero to 12 years of age travel with the right to a seat at a reduced fare (with the exception of the Malpensa service, where there is no reduction) in the ratio of one child per one paying adult. Children under 12 years of age may NOT travel alone. Children between the ages of 12 and 16 can travel alone on payment of the full ticket price and provided they have a power of attorney from a legal guardian, which can be downloaded HERE. Arriva accepts no responsibility for the child. It is not permitted to carry children on their laps, who must be transported in special seats to be provided by the accompanying person.

ANIMAL TRANSPORT

Each Passenger, in possession of a travel document, may take a small pet with them, provided that it does not cause a nuisance to other Passengers and that it is equipped with a muzzle, leash and any device that renders it inoffensive, as required by the applicable regulations.
The sum to be paid is 50% of the full fare applicable for the Passenger’s route.
During carriage, it is the responsibility of the accompanying person to prevent the animal from climbing onto the seats, soiling or deteriorating the vehicle or causing damage to the Passengers; should this occur, the accompanying person is liable to pay compensation for any damage.
Guide dogs for the blind are allowed to travel free of charge.

LUGGAGE TRANSPORT

The price of the ticket for each Traveller includes the free transport of 1 hand luggage item not exceeding 10 kg that can be placed in the overhead compartments inside the bus.
Any items that cannot be placed in the overhead compartments inside the bus must be placed in the outside luggage compartments. Acceptance of excess baggage can only be settled at the start of the journey (subject to availability of space in the luggage compartment).

It is not permitted to transport bicycles other than those of the latest folding type.

It is possible to transport skis or musical instruments as long as they do not exceed the maximum weight established (30 kg) and the overall volume (height in cm + width in cm + depth in cm) does not exceed 240 cm.

The Company declines all responsibility for any theft, tampering or loss of luggage. Arriva Italia shall be liable for loss of and damage to travellers’ luggage if caused by causes attributable to it; in such a case, compensation for damage shall not exceed the limits provided for by Law 202/54 and Law 450/85. Luggage containing dangerous and harmful goods, as well as inflammable material, is excluded from carriage; the carrier reserves the right to claim on the traveller for any damage caused by the nature of his
baggage.

Following recent reports of luggage theft, travellers are advised to pay the utmost attention to their luggage left in the luggage compartments (both at the terminus of departure and at subsequent intermediate stops).

Turin – Milan Malpensa Airport
We authorise the free transport of 1 suitcase whose dimensions (length + width + depth) do not exceed 160 cm and 1 hand luggage max 115 cm (for hand luggage, the limitations described in the previous paragraph remain valid).
Any baggage larger than the above-mentioned dimensions or any additional item of luggage will only be accepted on the departure of the trip (subject to availability in the luggage compartments).

VEHICLE BEHAVIOUR

Passengers in the vehicle must carry a regular travel document, occupy a single seat and remain seated for the duration of the journey until the vehicle has stopped.
It is compulsory to wear a seatbelt if the seat occupied is equipped with one.
The Company declines all liability in the event of accidents suffered by travellers who have not complied with the above requirements.
Travellers are also required to behave in a dignified manner, not to smoke in the vehicle, and not to damage, deteriorate or soil the vehicles or infrastructures, otherwise the Traveller will be required to pay compensation for any damage caused.

INTERNATIONAL SERVICES (Courmayeur – Chamonix line)

The passenger must comply with the instructions issued by customs, tax and police authorities or other administrative authorities, both with regard to his or her own person and with regard to checking luggage, hand luggage, etc. Passengers must carry a valid identity document. The Company assumes no responsibility towards the passenger in the event that he or she fails to comply with the above provisions and is stopped by the border police and customs authorities.

LOST PROPERTY

All information on how to find lost items in vehicles can be requested by filling in the appropriate form on the websites:

  • torino.arriva.it
  • aosta.arriva.it

If possible, Arriva Italia will contact the legitimate owner and invite him/her to collect the lost item. If there is no certain reference to ownership, the object shall be kept at the disposal of the legitimate owner, for its collection, within the terms of the law.

INDEMNITY (refunds for services not performed or irregular services)

No refunds are made for delayed and/or interrupted or cancelled journeys due to force majeure (e.g. unforeseeable vehicle breakdown), or for breakdowns in the vehicle’s heating and/or air conditioning systems.
